Building language skills and securing employment are critical parts of community integration for New Americans.

English for Work

English for Work is for pre-literate, beginning and intermediate level English students. It incorporates work and practical life skills.

Evening English Language

Evening English Language classes are for intermediate and advanced English students.

Advanced English

The Advanced English class prepares adult refugees, immigrants, and asylees for success on the GED.

Spanish

Spanish classes are offered for beginning through advanced-level students. Special-topic workshops occur between semesters.

College Readiness Academy

The College Readiness Academy is a partnership that provides college preparation to New Americans and others who would like to begin college-level classes but are not yet college-ready.

Diversity in Social Work Advancement Program

In partnership with The Family Partnership and four local universities and private colleges, the Institute offers academic support to graduate students who are working on their masters degrees in social work.

Citizenship

The Institute’s Citizenship class prepares students to become United States citizens.

Computer Basics Class

Includes lessons on: computer vocabulary, typing, Microsoft word, internet basics, and opening email addresses.
