SNAP Employment and Training (SNAP E&T) assists SNAP participants with the transition from public assistance to self-sufficiency. The program accomplishes this by creating an individualized Employment Plan (EP) designed to help participants prepare for and quickly gain employment.
While you are completing your employment training, the SNAP E&T program can support you by providing:
- Food benefits
- Employment services
- Test fees
- Tuition fees
- Bus cards
- Background check expenses
- Training materials
To qualify for SNAP E&T, you must:
- Be receiving SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits or be eligible for SNAP (Not sure? We can help.)
- Have permission to work in the U.S.
- Be interested in an Institute training program:
