Norzin Waleag immigrated with her family to Minnesota, where she was raised from the age of nine. She completed her undergraduate degree at St. Olaf College in Minnesota and pursued her graduate degree from Boston College.

Having gone through the higher education system herself and working with college access programs targeted toward first-generation students, Norzin knows just how crucial it is to provide support so that students persist once in college
