Dear Friends,
I invite you to join me at our largest fundraising event of the year to show your support for the International Institute of Minnesota and the New Americans we serve.
By gathering to celebrate the resilience and contributions of our clients, we also gather to improve our community. As we enter a year of change, your support will build a strong foundation for the future.
Please gather your friends, family and neighbors and join us on May 17 to celebrate new beginnings. Your presence at this special event will change lives.

Michelle Baik
Michelle Baik is a multi-skilled journalist on KARE11 Sunrise.
While the Midwest has been home to her since her college days, Michelle is “originally from”… several places. Born in Seoul, South Korea, Michelle moved to the U.S. with her family at 4 years old and did most of her growing up in Salisbury, Maryland.
Journalism has brought adventure to Michelle’s life. She’s covered presidents’ visits to Wisconsin, followed state races of national interest, contributed in Thailand to an online news magazine and worked at the TODAY Show in New York and again in PyeongChang for the 2018 Winter Olympics.
The Twin Cities is now the center of the latest, exciting chapter.
Mayyadda
Mayyadda is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer from Minneapolis who aspires to use her music to make people slow down, find themselves in another perspective, and feel their way towards individual and collective healing.
With an eclectic mix of neo-soul vocals, folksy guitar, and pop-style piano with trap beats sprinkled in for flavor, she likes to refer to her genre as, “Black Girl Magic”. She has been active as a recording artist since 2015, releasing six projects since then.
Most recently, she released TRY&REMEMBER: The Acoustic Album, a continuation of her 2021 TRY&REMEMBER album, with acoustic renditions of some fan favorites and three brand new songs.
