To Get Started as a Volunteer:

Attend a Volunteer Information Session
1. Check out our open positions below and attend a Volunteer Information Session if you’d like a general overview of our roles

Submit an Application
2. Submit a Volunteer Application. Our Volunteer Manager will follow up within one week of applying to schedule a virtual interview to discuss your volunteer interests, availability, and next steps

Complete Onboarding
3. All volunteers must complete onboarding forms, including a Volunteer Agreement and Background Check
Open Positions
International Medical Graduate (IMG) Mentors will provide support to International Medical Graduates (IMG) / internationally trained physician clients.
Estimated hours/week: 6 meetings / 6 months
Option to continue after 6 months (with the same or another mentee)
Worksite: Virtual or in-person
As a Special Event Volunteer, you’ll contribute to a positive and welcoming environment and assist with various tasks to help ensure the event runs smoothly.
Estimated hours/week: 4 hours

Volunteer with refugees and immigrants in Minnesota and help them in securing employment.
Estimated hours/week: 2.5 hours

The Front Desk Greeter plays an important role in creating a welcoming and safe environment for those who come to the International Institute of Minnesota.
Estimated hours/week: Minimum of 2 hours/week, 3-month commitment

The Hospitality Classroom Assistant will assist the instructor with classroom activities.
Estimated hours/week: 4 hours per week
