Matt Bergquist

Community Workshops (CW) Collaborative Facilitator
Matt is the statewide Collaborative Facilitator for the International Institute of Minnesota’s Community Workshops (CW) program. He previously worked as an Education Specialist for CW at the Minnesota Council of Churches in Minneapolis, where he taught cultural orientation classes and supported various New American resettlement programs. Having worked with Community Workshops since 2022, he says he is honored to now be our program’s Collaborative Facilitator, and to be working with such wonderful, dedicated staff at IIMN. He says he is excited to continue equipping students with the skills, knowledge, and information to navigate their new lives in the United States, and to help them feel a sense of belonging and ownership as they come to call Minnesota home.

When he is not at work, you can probably find him running around town with his family, which includes his wife, Swagata; his 2-year-old daughter, Amia; and his brindle Shepherd, Cocoa. He is also an avid runner, a coffee snob, and a diehard Vikings and Twins fan.
