New Americans Campaign

Help Immigrants Achieve Naturalization

Your gift to the New Americans Campaign will be MATCHED up to $25,000 when you give by July 31!

At any given time, there are tens of thousands of eligible New Americans in Minnesota who have not applied to become U.S. citizens. High application costs and language barriers prevent many eligible refugees and immigrants from applying. Today, becoming a U.S. citizen is no longer just a milestone—it is the greatest form of protection.

When you make a gift, immigrants and refugees will be able to affordably apply for U.S. citizenship. Our expert staff will represent each applicant through the complex process and screen them for eligibility and fee waivers. Last year, we saved New Americans $400,800 in USCIS filing fees.

Access to affordable legal services is more important than ever.

Louis was resettled in the U.S. after spending 19 years in a refugee camp in Zambia. With help from the International Institute of Minnesota, he proudly became a citizen in 2025. “Being an American. It’s a dream come true,” Louis said. “I am an American 100%.”

Your donation will help New Americans like Louis earn the security and protection that citizenship offers. Celebrate America’s 250th birthday by making America a safe and welcoming place for all.
