Growing up undocumented gives Sandy Velazquez a personal, profound connection to the strength of Minnesota’s immigrants. Now, she is proud to bring that passion to the International Institute of Minnesota, where she will walk alongside youth, helping them find the stability, health, and support they deserve.
As part of the Anti-Human Trafficking and Youth Support Services team, Sandy will be dedicated to fostering safety, security, and empowerment for youth, guiding them through complex systems so they can build bright and thriving futures. Bringing 15 years of experience dedicated to the Latine community, Sandy Velazquez joins the International Institute of Minnesota as a seasoned sexuality educator. Her extensive background spans youth education and engagement, as well as adult lay health facilitation and outreach. She has a B.S. in Education from Metropolitan State University.
