Meet Our Board Members: Megan Mason

January 27, 2024 | Throughout our 105-year history, the International Institute of Minnesota has offered innovative programs and services to meet the changing needs of New Americans. We are grateful to our Board of Directors who generously donate their time and expertise contributing to the Institute’s work and mission. Today, meet Megan Mason, one of our five newest board members.

Megan is the Vice President of Finance and Business Operations for the Comcast Cable Midwest Region, responsible for providing executive-level guidance for all financial reporting and budgeting activities for the Region, which spans Minnesota, Kansas, Missouri and Wisconsin. She has more than 15 years of experience in the telecom industry and a great deal of knowledge and expertise in financial planning, business operations, business assurance and project management.

1) You could share your valuable time and skills with many deserving non-profits. Why have you chosen to join the board of the International Institute of Minnesota?

I feel passionate about sharing with and learning from different cultures as well as helping others make this place their home. I lived in another country for a short while and have welcomed several family friends from other countries. Making a place a home and helping families find a way to thrive is the biggest gift we can give.

2) What kind of expertise do you hope to offer to the Institute?

I hope to offer business insight as well as financial insight during decision-making.

2) What kind of impact do you hope your work as a board member has?

I hope to grow more connected with the board and with the individuals and families that we serve. I hope to offer new ideas that can help us continue to grow.
