Math Academy Teacher & STEM Navigator

Aaron started working for the International Institute of Minnesota in February 2025 as a Math Academy Teacher and STEM Navigator. He finds this position very fulfilling because he’s able to teach others the skills they need to build rewarding careers and solve problems in their daily lives. He loves teaching students new thinking and reasoning skills, so that they can tackle complex problems with greater understanding and confidence. He also enjoys helping students refine their social and communication skills so they can communicate their thinking to others with differing perspectives.

Aaron has a Master’s of Education from the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities and four years of work experience as a math teacher in Elementary and Middle School. He also has a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering and four years of work experience as a project engineer in industrial food production.
