Development Associate

Ellie Nowakowski is the Development Associate at the International Institute of Minnesota, supporting the annual giving fund and volunteer programs. Ellie is deeply passionate about uplifting immigrants and refugees and providing them with the support needed to achieve self-sufficiency. In her role, she enjoys connecting with donors and volunteers who are also enthusiastic about supporting New Americans as they make Minnesota their home.

Ellie earned a bachelor’s degrees in Journalism and French from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. After graduating, she spent two years teaching English as a second language to students aged 6-12 in Paris. Many of her students were immigrants and refugees and she grew interested in supporting these communities beyond a classroom setting. As the Development Associate at IIMN, she gets to support the comprehensive programs and services that meet the needs of New Americans.
