Temor Dourandish

Medical Career Advancement Navigator 

Temor Dourandish joined the International Institute of Minnesota as a Medical Career Advancement Navigator because of his commitment to helping internationally trained healthcare professionals continue or reestablish their careers in the United States. Having personally experienced immigration, professional transition, and the challenges of navigating a new education and employment system, he understands the value of practical guidance, encouragement, and culturally informed support. He is excited to help clients recognize their strengths, explore career pathways, access education and licensing resources, and pursue meaningful employment in healthcare.

Temor is an internationally trained physician with more than 15 years of experience in healthcare, medical education, research, emergency medicine, and community-based programs. Before joining the Institute, he served as a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Minnesota, conducting trauma and emergency medical services research. He has also taught anatomy, pathology, and clinical skills and contributed to healthcare education and workforce-development initiatives. Temor earned his medical degree in the UAE and a Master of Science in Critical Care from the University of Edinburgh. He is currently completing a Master of Health Informatics at the University of Minnesota.
