To Get Started as a Volunteer:

Attend a Volunteer Information Session
1. Check out our open positions below and attend a Volunteer Information Session if you’d like a general overview of our roles

Submit an Application
2. Submit a Volunteer Application. Our Volunteer Manager will follow up within one week of applying to schedule a virtual interview to discuss your volunteer interests, availability, and next steps

Complete Onboarding
3. All volunteers must complete onboarding forms, including a Volunteer Agreement and Background Check
Open Positions
The Homework Help Volunteer will work with English students individually or in small groups to meet a variety of needs.
Estimated hours/week: 1 hour/week, minimum 3-month commitment

The Entrepreneurship Classroom Assistant will assist classroom instructor and business navigator with classroom activities, which can include small group activities and one-on-one work.
Estimated hours/week: 2-4 hours per week

International Medical Graduate (IMG) Mentors will provide support to International Medical Graduates (IMG) / internationally trained physician clients.
Estimated hours/week: 6 meetings / 6 months
Option to continue after 6 months (with the same or another mentee)

As a Special Event Volunteer, you’ll contribute to a positive and welcoming environment and assist with various tasks to help ensure the event runs smoothly.
Estimated hours/week: 4 hours

Converse with our Professional Leadership students one-to-one as you help them practice job interview skills.
Estimated hours/week: One-time, 1.5-hour commitment
Worksite: Remote or in person
Volunteer with refugees and immigrants in Minnesota and help them in securing employment.
Estimated hours/week: 2 hours

The Immigration Services Volunteer / Intern will play a vital role in supporting our immigration legal services team by working closely with refugees and asylees to apply for permanent residency.
Estimated hours/week: Minimum of 15 hours/week through May 2026
