Housing Navigator Intern

Internship Overview
The Anti-Trafficking Program Housing Navigator Intern will support foreign-born survivors of human trafficking in accessing safe, stable, and appropriate housing. The intern will work closely with the housing navigator and case managers to assist with housing navigation, resource coordination, and client advocacy. The Intern will support educating clients on their rights and responsibilities as a renter and serve as a liaison for clients with property management and housing programs. The Housing Navigator Intern will work closely with other members of the Institute’s Anti-Trafficking team who are providing case management services to clients.
About the Internship

- Housing Support: Assist in identifying and securing emergency, transitional, and long-term housing options, including application support and attending appointments.
- Resource Management: Maintain current knowledge of local housing resources and contribute to a housing resource database.
- Client Education & Advocacy: Educate clients on the Twin Cities rental market, landlord-tenant responsibilities, and facilitate communication with landlords.
- Collaboration & Planning: Work with the housing navigator and case managers to assess client needs and create individualized housing plans.
- Administrative & Outreach Duties: Handle administrative tasks, document services, and participate in team meetings, training, and community outreach, while upholding confidentiality and trauma-informed care.

- 10-15 hours per week
- Gain hands-on experience in housing navigation and survivor advocacy.
