Matching Grant Case Manager

Shukria Yassin is dedicated to supporting new immigrants in Minnesota, having experienced firsthand the challenges and hardships of being a refugee herself when she arrived in Minnesota from Ethiopia in 2007. This personal journey has given her a profound understanding of the struggles and pains faced by new arrivals.

As a case manager, her role is to assist in the resettlement process, providing guidance and support in finding employment, housing, healthcare, education and public transportation. She is passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of individuals seeking refuge, helping them build a new home and future in Minnesota. Shukria is fluent in English, Oromo, Amharic and Kiswahili.
