English for Work is English for Everyone

Fardowsa, Natalia, Sam, Alejandra, Idephons, Sojoung, Mounou, and Elizabeth come from different backgrounds and cultures, but today they are all in Saint Paul attending English classes together. They are diverse both in where they come from, and in their goals are for class: Sam is an aspiring nurse, Alejandra envisions herself going to college, Fardowsa seeks to become more literate so that she can communicate better with those around her.

What they all have in common is a shared determination to turn their goals into reality, starting with mastering English.

English for Work at the International Institute of Minnesota is designed to meet the varied ambitions of its students. Classes are free and span from pre-literacy to college preparation. Beyond English instruction, students master technology, learn about American culture, and make lasting friendships with people from around the world.

If you’re ready to join the English for Work community, come register for class or apply to volunteer.
