Anti-Trafficking Program Housing Navigator (Spanish Speaking)
About This Position
The Anti-Trafficking Program Housing Navigator will provide trauma-informed, client-centered housing support and navigation services to foreign-born survivors of sex and labor trafficking. The Housing Navigator will help clients navigate the rental housing market, shelters, transitional programs, and other housing resources. They will educate clients on their rights and responsibilities as a renter and serve as a liaison for clients with property management and housing programs. The Housing Navigator will work closely with other members of IIMN’s housing team and case managers who are providing wrap-around services to clients.

$50,000 – $54,000, depending on experience

Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one assessments with clients to determine housing needs and available options
- Distribute rental payments and assist with landlord communication
- Educate clients about the Twin Cities rental market, help clients find rental housing, teach clients about landlord-tenant responsibilities
- Connect clients with shelters, transitional housing programs, housing vouchers, and other housing services based on need and eligibility
- Track and distribute household goods donations, connect with new landlords, and update IIMN’s landlord database
- Assist with housing setup, including some lifting and furniture setup; work with volunteers as needed for housing setup
- Maintain case files and enter client information into program database(s)
- Manage funds allotted per client and maintain/submit required documentation
- Participate in the maintenance and development of the programs through regular coordinator calls, service calls, and community outreach
- Attend internal team meetings
- Work with program manager to prepare and submit timely grant reports
- Other duties as assigned
Experience and Qualifications
- Commitment to the human rights and general welfare of refugees and immigrants
- At least one year of relevant work or volunteer experience
- Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred
- Familiarity with the Twin Cities rental market and housing resources
- Experience in victim services such as domestic violence, sexual assault, child welfare, and/or trafficking preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment, take initiative, work independently, and prioritize multiple simultaneous needs
- Ability to manage and track client funds and maintain organized case files and documentation
- Must have a valid driver’s license, insurance, and own car and be willing to transport clients in your vehicle
Additional Requirements
- Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity
- Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands.
- Occasional lifting (up to 50 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.
