Women’s Health Educator

Bilsuma is the Women’s Health Educator in the FGM/C Prevention Program at the Institute. Her life’s purpose revolves around improving the health and well-being of others. Dedicated to empowering everyone, she encounters the resources and support they need to thrive. She draws inspiration from her early life in a refugee camp and the shared experiences of family members who have lived there. Bilsuma’s profound empathy for those with similar backgrounds drives her to extend genuine happiness by offering support to individuals navigating similar paths.

Her academic journey led her to Concordia University-St. Paul, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in public health. Throughout her education, Bilsuma developed a passion for equipping individuals with vital health knowledge to help them lead healthier lives.
