Giovanna Antrop-Colón is a Minnesota transplant who was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. During her sociology studies at Metropolitan State University, she volunteered in English language and citizenship classes. She then spent three years at the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office and a corporate law firm before deciding that serving adult learners is where her passion lies.
Giovanna’s experience as a student of color navigating the Minnesota state system has proved invaluable during her time as a college navigator for the Institute. She understands how overwhelming the world of higher education can be for adult learners facing multiple barriers and is proud to serve the Institute’s mission of making higher education more accessible for all.
