Marketing & Communications Manager

Joe Shannon has been working in communications since 2014. He has a great passion for helping others and utilizing his skills to make a difference. Working in the communications and marketing fields gives him a voice and allows him to make an impact.

As the grandson of Mexican immigrants, working at the Institute feels like a full-circle moment because his family’s hard work allowed him the career opportunity to support immigrants and refugees thrive and achieve success as New Americans.

Joe grew up in a suburb of Omaha, Nebraska. He received a B.S. in History from Iowa State University in 2012 and has primarily worked for non-profit organizations since then.
