Sara Assefa
Reception and Placement Case Manager
Sara has more than six years of experience working with humanitarian organizations, and refugee services in different roles. She studied for a bachelor’s degree on DVM/DR, and earned a Master’s degree in Applied Human Nutrition with Saskatchewan University of Canada. Sara graduated with a diploma certificate in Medical Administrative Assistance from Summit Academy OIC.
In October 2021, she joined the Institute working with Refugee Services in Resettlement and Placement as a case manager, working on resettling the new refugees from their first day in the country until they reach self-sufficiency. She is multilingual, speaking Amharic, Oromo, English and basic Somali languages. Sara volunteers on different community-oriented organizations, such as THMWGO as a board member, and Teqwa Youth association as a founder.
