Khanom’s Journey to Safety

Over a decade since fleeing civil war in Syria, Khanom and her three sons received approval for refugee resettlement. She shares how they’re settling into their new Minnesota home with help from the International Institute of Minnesota.

“We were very excited and happy to come here. It’s a new experience for us, which is exciting for itself. And at the same time, we have dreams and hopes and ambitions and we hope we can achieve them here,” Khanom said.
