From Arriving to Thriving

At the International Institute of Minnesota, we help immigrants and refugees make Minnesota their home.

Know Your Rights and Family Safety

Due to increased ICE activity in the Twin Cities, we encourage all immigrants and refugees understand your constitutional rights and how to exercise them. We also recommend making family safety plans to ensure your family is prepared for an immigration emergency.

What you need to know about Operation PARRIS

The International Institute of Minnesota has learned that refugees who arrived within the past three years are being targeted by ICE with the launch of the Department of Homeland Security’s Operation PARRIS (Post-Admission Refugee Reverification and Integrity Strengthening). It’s important for refugees to be aware, informed, and prepared in case ICE were to show up unannounced due to this operation. We have resources for refugees and immigrants on knowing your rights and essential steps to take to protect you and your family.
