On Sept. 29, 2020, as a family of three arrived safely at the airport, the International Institute of Minnesota reached an astounding milestone: 25,000 total refugees welcomed to our state!
Since we began resettlement work in 1974, these 25,000 New Minnesotans have enriched our neighborhoods, started businesses, filled critical jobs and made our communities stronger. They are now our nurses and legislators, our friends and coworkers.
While we wish resettlement services were not a global necessity, we celebrate the fact that Minnesota’s door is open to all those who do seek refuge. Your support makes this possible — thank you
